Alarming: 63% of Dentists Not Utilizing Internet Video for Dental Marketing

Internet Video for Dental MarketingVideo marketing offers dentists an inexpensive way to reach a larger group of prospective new dental patients and creates a more personal interaction between a dental practice and its patients.

Street Fight, a site dedicated to hyper-local business asked Brian Norgard, co-founder of Chill.com, a kind of Pinterest for social video about the latest trend in online video.

Norgard believes that “locally produced video will start to explode. This local content will be consumed because the events that are captured will be more than just entertaining, it will directly affect the quality of our daily life. “

The feeling is that consumers will be watching more local video than ever before.

As this trend continues to explode, The Wealthy Dentist conducted a survey asking dentists if Internet video is currently a component of their overall dental marketing strategy.

Surprisingly, 63% of the dentist respondents answered that they are not currently using video as part of their dental marketing strategy, but are open to trying it.

32% are currently using video marketing, while  5% don’t use video — and have no desire to do so in the near future.

Dentists Utilizing Internet Video for Dental Marketing

A Michigan dental office worker reported, “We’ve gotten a lot of great patient testimonials that we have put on YouTube and Facebook!”

A prosthodontest professed to using video, “We recently produced a web video and added a QR code on our Valpak ad that directs the public to our practice’s welcome video on the web.”

The majority of dentists utilizing Internet video for their dental marketing were urban.

Dental Marketing Videos Bring Dentists More New Patients

Dental Marketing Videos Bring Dentists More New Patients Ever since online video became the fastest-growing media platform, dentists have been looking for ways to integrate video into their dental websites.

The public continues to eat up video content with 181 million U.S. Internet users watching nearly 37 billion online videos in March of 2012, according to comScore, Inc.  a leader in measuring the digital world.

With so many users watching online videos, more and more dentists are looking to create video content that reflects this growing trend.

The New Patient Marketing Machine™  from the Internet Dental Alliance lets dentists do just that.  Dentists can add their own videos to their website, or choose from IDA’s library of dental marketing videos.

Video is an excellent way to connect with dental patients.  A dentist can feature patient testimonials, show a new dental treatment, answer commonly asked questions, and debunk any dental treatment myths.

Friday Random Video: Wingsuit Race Through the Clouds

Friday Random Video: Wingsuit Race Through the CloudsToday’s Friday random video features 5 wingsuit enthusiasts who filmed one of their aerial races where their flying speed reached 140mph.

Filmmaker Devin Graham of Salt Lake City, Utah, posted his winguit racing flight film on YouTube where it has been viewed more than 273,000 times.

The race begins with the wingsuit fliers jumping out of a plane and flying above the clouds.

The aim of each flier to reach the ground first and cross the finish line made of black and white checkered bunting.

While the wingsuit fliers are graceful as ballet dancers in flight, once they hit the ground it’s another story, as the wind drags them and their parachutes across the ground away from the finish line.

One flier is finally successful —

Dentists, do you participate in any type of extreme sports during your leisure time?

Friday Random Video: Where in the Hell is Matt 2012 (video)

Friday Random Video: Where in the Hell is Matt 2012My favorite online video personality is Matthew “Matt” Harding of the “Where the Hell is Matt?” video series.

Matt was a video game designer who, in 2003, took time off from work to travel and see the world.

As a joke to family and friends, he set up the site, “Where in the Hell is Matt” to allow everyone to keep track of his travels.

On a suggestion from a friend, Matt chose to update his travel status with video recordings of him doing his “funny dance” at different locations. The videos were so entertaining that they were passed around the Internet and Matt became an instant Internet celebrity.

The makers of Stride Gum took notice and offered to sponsor Matt’s future travels if he’d filmed his dancing.

His “Where the Hell is Matt? (2008)” video has been watched over 40,900,000 times on YouTube since 2011 and Harding’s YouTube channel is ranked “#83 – Most Subscribed (All Time)” as of December 22, 2010. (Wikipedia)

Matt has just released his latest travel dance video for 2012 and already it has been viewed over a million times on YouTube alone.

His videos make me smile and remind me what is possible in the world.
