There’s a new YouTube star: a 7-year-old boy who’s woozy after a dental appointment. Uploaded less than two weeks ago, it’s already gotten millions of views and spawned tribute videos.
“Is this real life?” the boy asks his father. “I feel funny. Why’s this happening to me?”
Sedation dentistry advocates will not find this video a compelling testimonial to their cause. The boy seems to be over-sedated. He asks his father, “Is this forever?” and screams in frustration.
“Proof, if any were needed, that dentists aren’t to be trusted,” wrote one online commenter. “I had no idea they gave kids hard drugs like that for dentistry work!” said another. “I didn’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him.”
