Internet Video Sensation: “David After Dentist”

There’s a new YouTube star: a 7-year-old boy who’s woozy after a dental appointment. Uploaded less than two weeks ago, it’s already gotten millions of views and spawned tribute videos.

“Is this real life?” the boy asks his father. “I feel funny. Why’s this happening to me?”

Sedation dentistry advocates will not find this video a compelling testimonial to their cause. The boy seems to be over-sedated. He asks his father, “Is this forever?” and screams in frustration.

“Proof, if any were needed, that dentists aren’t to be trusted,” wrote one online commenter. “I had no idea they gave kids hard drugs like that for dentistry work!” said another. “I didn’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him.”

  • i think if a child needs major work done on his
teeth and he can not handle the pain and anxiety,
a pedotonist or general dentist should make
this child’s visit as comfortable as modern medicine
allow. I grew up in a small town in Arizona,
where i was restrained in a dental chair as a child
and no matter how hard i try that memory and anxiety
does not leave. Modern dentistry should not be
painful. The proper amount of meds for the child
or adult will allow both patient and dentist to
have a comfortable experience…the residual effect
of anesthesia and oral sedation wear off. So
what is the problem with the video? I will never
understand why dentists feel like going to them
is like getting your hair done…it is not….oral
sedation can dispell people’s beliefs that painless
dentistry is not an oxymoron! Karen

  • I have to agree with Karen here. From the video we don’t know what kind of work was done. In many cases the child has to have work that would be very painful done, and a stronger drug such as the one that may have been used would need to be used. These side affects will wear off. I don’t see the big deal here either?

If you never downloaded any of these programs then you’re probably safe, and if you have then you should run a spyware detection program. The best move will be for get your computer formatted to avoid any loop holes.

Phishing Links: This way of hacking has been thee for quite sometime now. Scammers send legitimate and official looking emails to your inbox. When you open them you are asked to click on the link and login in order to save your account or win free facebook poker chips, but in reality you are logging into a fake site that sends your information off to the scammer who made it. • 90 million views and still counting. Man, this video’s really popular. Have you seen the other video in the same account? That one already has more than a million views by now. How does David’s Dad spread these videos around to get that number of views. Anyways, his dentist did a great job by making sure David didn’t feel any pain there.
