jim,
i know first hand about this devastating truth. my husband and i had a practice for 16 years and in that time he had several affairs with the staff. the affair with the hygienist lasted five years. he ended it but when we sold the practice and became full time faculty at a dental school he again began an affair with one of the assisting staff. it ruined our marriage of 20 years (21 in actual years). it remains painful as we are still employed by the same university and i am forced to still see him at meetings and conferences. i appreciate your candor in this but do not believe that only 20% of dentists have engaged in extramarital affairs with staff - i would believe it is more like 50%.
