Dentist Feels the ADA Has Become the Enemy of the General Dentist (video)

ADA has Become the Enemy of the General DentistThe American Dental Association is dentistry’s largest professional organization, but not all dentists feel that the ADA represents their interests.

One Missouri dentist declared, “The ADA has actually become the enemy of the general dentist!”

The Wealthy Dentist conducted a survey asking dentists if the ADA is dominated by specialists who are trying to promote their own agenda over the welfare of the general dentist.

Almost two thirds of the respondents felt specialists are using the ADA so that they can make money at the expense of  general dentists.

Watch the video below to hear more of what both dentists and specialists have to say about the ADA –

General dentists were eight times more likely to criticize the ADA over specialists.

How do you feel about the ADA?

Danger! Pitting specialists versus generalists is a slippery slope, and it is contributing to the downfall of medicine.  Outside organizations LOVE this. When confronted, physicians tend to circle the wagons and starting shooting inward at each other. It’s good to air opinions and differences, but we must remain cohesive focused, now so more than ever, or suffer the consequences our medical colleagues are facing.

It’s laughable to think that the ADA is a cabal of specialists working against the general dentist. Specialists probably don’t compromise more than 20% of dentists. If the ADA does not represent the general dentist, it’s the general dentists fault.
As a specialist myself, I see the economy and consultants pushing GP’s into performing treatment on patients that they would not have otherwise performed. Be careful to not stick your necks out too far my friends. The personal injury lawyers will soon be there to chop it off.
