Solar Toothbrush Cleans with Electrons, Not Toothpaste

Solar-powered toothbrush cleans with electrons, not toothpasteToothbrush technology just took a major leap forward with the introduction of a solar-powered toothbrush that cleans with electrons rather than toothpaste.

Canadian researchers teamed with a Japanese manufacturer to create the "Soladey-J3X," which uses light to send electrons down the bristles. Plaque breaks down when the electrons react with acid in the mouth.

The brush is also designed to kill two types of bacteria involved in gum disease.

The researchers are about to begin testing the solar toothbrush on a sample of teenagers. It is not publicly available at this time.

What a load of totally pseudo-scientific nonsense. Cleaning the teeth with electrons. Wow, that makes it sound so “scientific”. Did anyone who posted this article here EVER have any chemistry??

  • Julie Frey

Actually yes, the person who posted this article minored in Chemistry at Stanford University. On this blog, we report on interesting dental-related stories — and this is one of them. And frankly, some notable dental researchers seem to think it’s a valid idea.

Here in Texas the sun gets really hot. Sometimes while watching chemtrails, I open wide and bathe my teeth in a cleansing blast of solar rays. The ambient radiation melts away the plaque like hot butter.

    Your mileage may vary. :)

After spending a fortune on antioxidants to maintain optimum health, we’ll just start firing electrons directly into our mouth? You have got to be joking!
That’s as dumb as the MDs who prescribed high F- doses to combat osteoporosis, only to find those brittle, hard bones break all the more.
In this age where all our info comes from TV and internet, we have to watch out: just because the eye can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s good for you! I would further question the manufacturer’s integrity for experimenting on teenagers. Hellooo people!
