Dentists, like other professionals, are not immune to claims of “wrongful discharge” headaches from former employees.
While most dentist respondents to this survey (72%) have not had such claims leveled against them, 9% have been sued for wrongful discharge, and another 19% have been accused of it or threatened with legal action.
“I had one employee who quit on their own discord then tried to file discrimination charges against me because she could not collect unemployment benefits,” said a New York orthodontist.
“We have an employee who successfully sued a former employer, and she is always alluding to that fact,” mentioned a pediatric dentist.
