More government/corporate intrusion into family matters; similar to cases where children are taken from parents then force-fed mind-altering drugs, chemo therapy and dangerous radiation "because it's good for them."

Criminal mistreatment? B.S.

Far more worse than tooth decay is the act of separating, or alienating a child from its natural parents. That's criminal mistreatment.

Next thing we'll see are children filing charges against parents or kids taken by CPS and sold to foster homes because the parent(s) disciplined the child. Oh wait, that's already happening!

She could have taken him to the ER at a hospital for treatment under Medicaid and they would have given him antibiotics, pain relief and referred him for care. It seems as if she just chose to do nothing.

So, if dentists refused to treat this boy because he might have been on Medicaid, does that make the dentist liable too?
