Before you raise your fee see if you can trim the fat off of your budget. This does not mean cut jobs or wages. I am floored when I see an office that has not reviewed their phone bills and sought a less costly plan, or when the last was time you negotiated with your vendors, your electric company, credit card processor or even your cable. Be creative and review your expenses. At my office I offer rewards to my team when they save us money and even run contest on who can save us at least 100.00 a month each, month for a year? What do they win..A 100 dollar bill. Make them part of the solution, not the problem.

Have not raised a fee in two years. My area is hard hit and I still manage to make a good living. I feel bad that I have not given raises to staff in two years either but they seem to understand the balance. If I raise fees it will be modest and go mainly to cover staff raises and other expenses.
