Nearly 1% of US Adults Take Dental Vacations
So how big is this whole "dental tourism" business, anyway? Think tank Deloitte Center for Health Solutions predicts that about 648,000
patients will take medical and dental vacations overseas this year. “We project
that outbound medical tourism could reach upwards of 1.6 million patients by

Survey: Only Half of Dentists Raise Fees Yearly
In this survey, only half of dentists said they've raised their fees in the
past year... for a
few, it's been over 5 years! "I did not raise fees for 2-3 years at a time, but found I was getting too far
behind and the increase was too large at one time," advised one dentist, while

Old Amalgam Fillings May Release Less Mercury
A new study from the University of Saskatchewan suggests that old silver
fillings may contain less mercury -- or at least less toxic mercury -- than new
amalgam fillings. This would be great... except for the unanswered question:
where did the mercury go? The optimistic explanation is that the metallic
mercury turns into metacinnabar.
