a few things: (1) the economics of dentistry; (2) dentistry's
obligation to health care; and (3) consumer demand.

Survey: 3 of 4 Dentists Haven't Changed Fees
In this survey, 22% of dentists said they have raised their fees to stay
competitive. The majority, however, haven't yet done so, and a few docs have
even lowered fees. "I raised my fees about 2 month ago, and plan to do so again in January," wrote one

Dental School Drama Ends with $1.7M Payout
Alissa Zwick was asked to leave the University of Michigan's dental school, but
a federal jury has found the school's action illegal, awarding the former student $1.7 million.
It seems an over-zealous dean used Zwick's ADD to force out two professors.

Patient Tricked into Getting Veneers
A woman has filed suit against a Charleston dental practice, alleging that dentists tricked her into getting veneers.
She thought they would be free, but in fact she unknowingly signed a credit
application, leaving her owing $5,000 she didn't have.
