Mouthguard Improves Athletic Performance, Rave Dentists
In
this survey, we found that fully nine out of ten dentists surveyed believe
mouthguards can improve athletic performance - specifically, the Pure Power
Mouthguard (PPM), a neuromuscular device."Ask the athletes who are using them
and have seen the increase in strength, flexibility and balance," said one
dentist. "Terrell Owens has actually been timed running faster with his PPM in."

Lawsuit Targets Providers of Overpriced, Unnecessary Dental Work
Attorney General Files Suit Against Massachusetts Practices
The Massachusetts Attorney General has filed suit against
three high-volume dental practices, alleging
they attracted low-income patients with the offer of a free
exam, then pulled a "bait and switch"
with unnecessary and substandard dental work that left patients both in
pain and in debt. The suit names individual dentists, finance advisers
and business managers employed at the practices.

dental consultants. Dentists are split on the issue, wanting to avoid dental
practice management duties without paying an arm and a leg. "I have in the past
used dental consultants, but not a one has ever been able to get me more
patients," complained one dentist.

Sour Candies: "Like Eating Battery Acid"
These days, our drugs are stronger, our cars faster, and our computers more powerful.
And, true to form, today's candy is even more devastating to tooth enamel than
in days gone by. The California Dental Hygienists' Association (CDHA) recently
issued a public warning to parents about the Halloween dangers of sour candies,
many of which are apparently as acidic as battery acid.
